I-NEC Membership

Mem­bers of I-NEC are local com­mu­ni­ties or cities engaged in high-end ICT and broad­band deploy­ment for it’s com­mu­nity. Mem­ber com­mu­ni­ties do not nec­es­sar­ily con­cern a city in the legal sense, although the rela­tion with munic­i­pal struc­tures is often clear.

To be able to cope with the fore­seen future growth of the organ­i­sa­tion, a dis­tinc­tion will be made between mem­bers of I-NEC and those mem­bers that are par­tic­i­pat­ing in the board of I-NEC. The board con­sists of I-NEC mem­bers that rep­re­sent regional lead­ers, where mem­ber­ship of I-NEC is open for all ‘e-communities’ that under­write the aims of the I-NEC orga­ni­za­tion and sign the Dec­la­ra­tion of Open Networks.

As I-NEC is devis­ing and imple­ment­ing a growth ori­ented approach, sev­eral com­mu­ni­ties world­wide are listed which could either become I-NEC board mem­bers based on their role as ‘regional leader’ or would fit the I-NEC cri­te­ria to become an I-NEC member.



Mem­ber­ship con­di­tions / ben­e­fits 2010

Pre­mium member

  • Is a part of the Mem­ber Coun­cil and has a vote
  • Can be cho­sen for a Board Position
  • Mem­ber­ship fee € 15.000 per year
  • Access to I-NEC Trade Office with­out secured out­side funding
  • The right to be included in project pro­pos­als from other members
  • Max­i­mum travel refund

Full member

  • Is a part of the Mem­ber Coun­cil and has a vote
  • Can be cho­sen for a Board Position
  • Mem­ber­ship fee € 10.000 per year
  • Access to I-NEC Trade Office with secured out­side funding
  • Travel refund

Can­di­date member

  • Is a part of the Mem­ber Coun­cil and has no vote
  • Can­di­date mem­ber­ship is for a max­i­mum of 2 years
  • Can not be cho­sen for Board Position
  • Mem­ber­ship fee € 5.000 per year (50% of the full membership)
  • Access to I-NEC Trade Office only with Full or Pre­mium Mem­ber included
  • No travel refund

Spe­cial member

  • Requested mem­ber­ship
  • Spe­cial mem­ber­ship is for 1 year at the time
  • Access to Mem­ber Coun­cil Meet­ings or Board Meet­ings  only by invi­ta­tion of the Mem­ber Coun­cil or Board
  • Con­di­tions regard­ing Board Posi­tions, access to I-NEC Trade Office and travel refund dif­fers by offer/proposal

Busi­ness member

  • Mem­ber­ship fee by offer/proposal
  • Busi­ness mem­ber­ship terms dif­fer by offer/proposal
  • Access to Mem­ber Coun­cil Meet­ings or Board Meet­ings only by invi­ta­tion of the Mem­ber Coun­cil or Board
  • Can not be cho­sen for a Board Position
  • No access to I-NEC Trade Office with­out secured fund­ing from out­side partners
  • No travel refund

Education/Knowledge mem­ber

  • Mem­ber­ship by offer/proposal (intern­ship, train­ing course)
  • Edu­ca­tion mem­ber­ship terms dif­fer by offer/proposal
  • Access to Mem­ber Coun­cil Meet­ings or Board Meet­ings only by invi­ta­tion of the Mem­ber Coun­cil or board
  • Can not be cho­sen for a Board Position
