Incubator to Incubator (I2I)
Most INEC members have forged incubator programs over the years. Such programs can include physical premises, incentives, financial support, central provisioning of know-how and market access. The aims of these incubators have much in common: to enhance the incubation of home-grown innovation and successful start-ups as well as the development of innovative services and applications. INEC’s initiative aims to bring these incubators together, have them compare notes on where they are in terms of place, time, place and results – and allow for real cooperation to be forged.
Following the first I2I meeting held in conjunction with INEC’s Broadband Cities 2006 in Stockholm, November last, a second more in-depth meeting is set to take place in Utah, April 2007. Organized in conjunction with INEC’s annual meeting or its members and board, Incubators to again participate include C.E.S.A.R. (Brazil), MSC Incubator (Malaysia), Stockholm’s Arena Digital Services and their counterparts from Amsterdam, Almere, Malta and Utah. Among the anticipated outcomes is a decision on the enhanced development of an online 'Soft Landing Zone' and matching facilities to help incubatees.
