BroadbandCities 2010 in South Africa

I-NEC’s con­fer­ence, Broad­band­C­i­ties, will be held in Gaut­eng, South Africa, in com­ing autumn. Dates and loca­tion will be announced as soon as available.


I-NEC members in Brasov

I-NEC mem­bers met in Brasov (Roma­nia) last week in con­junc­tion with a sched­uled Dig­i­tal Cities gath­er­ing (http://www.digital-cities.eu/about) who’s ini­ti­at­ing part­ners are all mem­bers of the Inter­na­tional Net­work of e-Communities (I-NEC). The DC lead coor­di­na­tor is the munic­i­pal­ity of Trikala (GR), which through the e-Trikala project has a back­ground in ICT based ser­vices. Other I-NEC mem­bers in the project are Man­ches­ter (UK), Malta, Par­al­imni (Cyprus) and Almere Ken­nistad (NL) as well as The Uni­ver­sity of Tran­sil­va­nia (Roma­nia) and Jeseník (Czech Republic).


I-NEC’s new website launched

I-NEC has just launched a improved web­site that is aimed at pro­vid­ing mem­bers a bet­ter ser­vice as well as mak­ing it eas­ier for inter­ested par­ties to get basic infor­ma­tion about the orga­ni­za­tion. The new web­site has a login mem­bers area, a spe­cial area for act­ing Board Posi­tions to col­lab­o­rate and a new sim­pli­fied nav­i­ga­tion to name but few of improvements.


The Municipality of Paralimni will be I-NEC member in 2010

The Munic­i­pal­ity of Par­al­imni, Cyprus, has asked to become a I-NEC mem­ber in 2010 and are final prepa­ra­tions tak­ing place. The mem­ber­ship sign­ing is planned to take place in the next cou­ple of months.

The City of Reykjavik joins I-NEC

The City of Reyk­javik became a mem­ber of the I-NEC com­mu­nity in the begin­ning of the year. Reyk­javik, who is the cap­i­tal of Ice­land, is advanced dig­i­tal city and a active mem­ber in var­i­ous but is seek­ing to expand its knowl­edge even more.
